Le Coutale Corkscrews are designed by french Sommelier and Winemaker, Phillipe Bernede. He became increasingly frustrated by the poor quality of the corkscrews he used, after a day of battling to open his wine at a wine event he decided to create his own. Coutale corkscrews are equipped with a patented double-lever, and stainless steel serrated knife. The handles come in metal, plastic, wood, stainless steel or bamboo. The screws are grooved or Teflon-coated stainless steel. The body frame is stainless steel for all except the Invention model. All double levers are spring-loaded, with the exception of the Innovation model. The spring adds power and ease when opening a bottle. Innovation’s double lever comes in mechanically when lever is lifted and the knife folds.
