This Glendalough Poitin is created with malted barley and sugar beet, and then matured in oak casks. Much more interestingly, the Irish distillers have aged this particular Poitin into a Sherry casks - you don't find that very often! Nose: Orange lotions and and vanilla, shortly followed with red-wine-like sweetness coming through. Very interesting. Palate: Quite spicy, with a touch of toasted oak. Juicy fruits. And it finishes with touches of sweet, sticky Sherry notes.
